AIFF Files (Platinum Notes, Mix In Key and PMEditor)

Hi,

I've just wiped my Pacemaker, again.

I have several 100s of AIFF tracks I purchased from Beatport. Since loading them to my Pacemaker I have run them through Platinum Notes to master them all to the same volume level. I then run them through Mixed in Key to tag them with the key for harmonic mixing. So I removed the old versions from Pacemaker to replace them with the new versions.

Platinum Notes and Mixed In Key loaded up the AIFF files with the ID3 tags fine, and Mixed In Key has saved the key information to the ID3 tags, but when I then drag the tracks across to the PMEditor all the ID3 information is lost.

Does anyone know how or if PMEditor can read the tags from AIFF files?

Thanks!

Daz

I've no idea but from what you said, I guess it can't.

However in theory it shouldn't be that difficult to write a program that can go through all the files in your db and
- locate the original file
- extract the aiff tag info
- update the db info (library and device)

Obviously you'd have to be a programmer as I am, but I just don't have the time or inclination.
Perhaps DJ Pip might fancy a new mini-project if he reads this

Yeah, I can have a pop at that. I didn't even consider writing a third-party app to do it! Silly me!

I've put info on the db structure in the developer section.

I'm all of a sudden having the same trouble with Beatport tunes. Most of my tunes have been bought there (in WAV form) and are usually track, key and album tagged.

But now when i drag & drop into Editor, none of it is found? Even the track title is wrong and includes the beatport catalogue number at the beginning. I accidently downloaded one track in mp3 form last night and that loaded fine into editor. Very frustrating.
