Firmware causing problems with Mixing

Post by cubicgarden » Sun Oct 12, 2014 11:25 am

I recently bought a Pacemaker running the 1.4 firmware.

I had a problem in the past with the recording mixes on my pacemaker using the beta firmwares.
In the old forums people suggested it might be the fact I'm running Ubuntu and using mainly Wine or Virtual Machines.

You can hear a copy here - http://www.mixcloud.com/cubicgarden/the ... -test-mix/

However using the same computer setup, I was able to create a mix with no problems at all...

You can hear the old firmware mix here - http://www.mixcloud.com/cubicgarden/old ... mware-mix/

I'm going to look at the differences in the SQL lite DB to see if that reveals something.

Hi Cubic, you are a Pacemaker user from wayback.

So it sounds like it was the Pacemaker or the firmware on it at fault. if it's still the same, try the same firmware that's on your new unit.
Never experiment with drugs.... you might waste them

Wrote a post about it - http://cubicgarden.com/2014/10/13/beta- ... pacemaker/

Yep I've been mixing on the pacemaker for 6 years?!
I'm very sure its the new firmware because it happened once I put the found firmware on it.
But yes in the name of science I should put the old 1.4 firmware on the old upgraded PMD

And as I knew it would... http://www.mixcloud.com/cubicgarden/old ... revisited/

The old 1.4 firmware on my old pacemaker, records the mixes perfectly...

Something changed in between the 1.4 to 1.6 firmware which makes it not record mixes correctly. I used the exact same setup and even the same pacemaker editor running in Wine
