Hi guys!

Trying again to get my device working with my new computer.

My Pacemaker seems fine, is loaded with music, and works as well as it ever did. When I plug it into my computer, however, windows spits out the message "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has failed."

When I go into "Devices" - I see an error coming up and the pacemaker comes up as an unidentified device with the explanation "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

Does anyone have any idea what might be the issue here and how I can get my computer to recognize the Pacemaker?

Common problem I'm afraid. 60Gb model by any chance?

- If you have a mains power supply, plug it in through that rather than power through USB alone
- If you have USB-3 compatbile ports, try one which is only USB 1 or 2
- Try different USb ports on your PC (avoid a USB hub)
- Try a USB lead with a ferrite core built in

Please post back if you have any luck, and let us know what worked for you.

Its less about the ports, and more about getting a decent quality cord with a ferrite core on it. a lot of people have reported that as being the only problem they could figure out.

Ive heard of differences in ports on some PCs, between those on the motherboard and thoses acting as a hub on the front panel. Anything is worth a try when you are stuck

Actually I have found that with my wireless mouse and DDJ-T1, the front ports work best.

After playing with a few combinations, I discovered the following:

1) Cables indeed make a difference. I tried several, and lo and behold found one that seemed to connect regularly with my old laptop, after having a few that failed giving me the same "USB device failure" message that my new computer had been showing.

2) External power did not seem to matter (for ME, and THIS SETUP), as I plugged my Pacemaker in with external power and it didn't help those poopy cables to hold the connection any better.

3) Ports seem to matter too. Using the "Good" cable, I was unable to forge a stable connection/USB recognition with my new computer when going through any of the USB-hub ports, but it finally worked when
I connected through the 1 USB root Port on the machine.

What a lot of finnicky Chunder!
