Display cracked

Hello!

After another trip to Burning Man my Pacemakers display is cracked. The device functions perfectly well but it's hard to read the screen now. I want to repair it and got it open.

But at this point I don't know how to continue. Can I get spare parts somewhere? Could I just remove the cracked round glass that seems to be glued onto the display and replace it with ordinary glass or plastic or is it polarising / special glass?

Any help is very appreciated!

Thanks, Gg

Ouch! How did that happen?

AFAIK the production of the Pacemaker has dicountinued so there's presumably no chance to order replacemnt parts. Despite the fact I've never seen any company offering their customers replacement parts (for a fair price) to replace them on their own.

Mh, by examining your photos I guess the top glass is just a protection glass (like cases you experienced). The top glass of the display is another seperate glass (probably plastic). So the next step would be removing the broken glass. Then order a glass with them same thickness from the next glassworks and cut it down to the required dimensions. I guess it's glued around on the outer circle. Maybe you do so, too.

It happened on the plane, the Pacemaker was in my luggage.

Knowing that it's ordinary glass i replaced it with plastic: SUCCESS!

Thank you very much! It was easy after all...
